Makeup workshop 21.04.15 class and homework

So today we had to get into pairs and assess make-up and hair design pictures given to us by our teacher Branka; annotating with how we thought the make up look was achieved, products used etc...

The picture we were given was;

Our annotations
We decided that we thought the foundation was a white cream stick foundation (its in the picture!)
The lip colour we thought a mineral lipstick with no liner as it has a sheen to it.
The eye shadow we thought was a cream/gel shadow as it has a wet look.
The sequins on the temple area we thought may be pre made piece as it would have taken ages to create otherwise, but the black sequins on the eye lid we decided would have been applied one by one, as well as strip lashes
We thought the highlight was , maybe MAC vanilla pigment and the contour a natural powder contour shade.
The brows look like they have been lightly filled in then gel applied over the top to achieve a wet look.

We then presented our opinions and thoughts to the class.
Our teacher Branka then gave us homework to make a pre made piece for the face using wig lace; wig lace is an extremely thin netting, which when placed on the skin appears invisible, which is why it's great, it saves so much time.
She gave us each a small piece of wig lace, this is what i created.

My final piece

Products used:
- Feathers
- Wig lace
- Hydra spirit gum to stick feathers and apply to face

I decided to make a piece for the eyes, I bought a mixed colour bag of speckled feathers to create this eye piece.
I started by placing the wig lace over my eye to establish where I needed to cut it in order for it to sit nicely around my eye.
Onece I had cut my shape I arranged feathers without sticking to get the shape I wanted.
I then started sticking the feathers to the lace using Hydra spirit gum (unlike normal spirit gum, you can wash off with water).
Once I was finished I placed hydra glue onto my face in the area where I wanted to stick the piece.
I then carefully stuck the piece onto my face holding it down until I was completely sure it was secure.

Overall I was pretty happy with the outcome, although as you can see in the photo above some feathers got to wet and sticky so went all thin, therefore creating patches, it was a shame but for a first time I thought it's an ok attempt.
