Hair & Make up Catwalk Trends

For my hair and make-up design I want to create something avant garde and high fashion, as well as still having some traditional elements from Day of the Dead.

I have put together a hair and make up mood board of runway shows, that I love and will be using as inspiration for my final design. 

Make up mood board:

Right from the start I knew that I wanted to create a beautiful flawless white iridescent skin, taking the white colour right down to the chest, then changing the colour to brighter ones as I got further down such as pinks and purples. 
Having a look at present and past catwalk trends, I now know that I want the eyes to be the biggest statement, along with the lips. As you can see in the mood board above; embellishments on the eyes have been both recent and past trends, along with bright colours, I like the idea of creating texture. Ombre lips are trending at the moment, and I would love to use the technique in my final design, I quite like the idea of incorporating glitter into them as well.
I also want to block out the eye brows or a bleached effect.
I love the concept of freckles seen at Preen SS15, I would like to incorporate this into my design but on a smaller scale, such as a dusting across the nose.

Hair Mood Board:

Due to having a large headpiece as part of my mask, you wont be able to see the hair from the front, so in sticking with my idea of creating a really clean, high fashion design, I have decided on a wet look for the hair, as it's on trend this year as you can see above and I think it would compliment my design idea really well. My model has very short hair so I would like to incorporate extension in to give extra length and body to her hair. I would like to have the wet look on the top sections of the hair, with the ends dry and straight.

I love the idea of creating contrast in my design; clean white skin mixed with textured eyes and lips. Wet slick hair graduating into, dry straight hair.
